A workshop funded by the Department of Water Regional Estuaries Initiative to learn about the benefits and challenges of establishing (or re-establishing) native vegetation along waterways. Many people attended the workshop from the professional sector to community groups to landholders. A field visit was organised on a property near Witchcliffe. This enabled attendees to see results of multiple years of planting and stabilisation works.
Topics discussed during the presentation and walk included: site assessment, species selection, planting techniques, maintenance before and after, fire hazards considerations.
