SUMMARY:Smarter Grazing for Better Land
DESCRIPTION:\nYour livestock can do more than just produce meat, milk or wool — they can also help improve the land they graze on.\n\n\n\nHow animals move across a paddock affects everything from soil health and pasture growth to plant diversity and productivity. Managed well, grazing can be a powerful tool for building healthier pastures and more resilient farming systems.\n\n\n\nDifferent animals graze in different ways, and their nutritional needs change throughout the year. Planned grazing helps bring all of this together, using stock movement and timing to get the best out of both your pastures and your livestock.\n\n\n\nAt this workshop, Holistic Grazing expert Dr Judi Earl will share practical insights into different grazing approaches and how they influence pasture growth, composition and production — helping you make the most of the stock you already have on your farm.\n\n\n\nTopics covered include:\n\n\n\n\nThe range of grazing management strategies explained\n\n\n\nManaging animals in tune with seasonal growth cycles\n\n\n\nThe effect of the number of paddocks on rest and recovery of plants\n\n\n\nMatching stocking rate to carrying capacity – feed budgeting\n\n\n\nMethods to measure available feed and pasture growth\n\n\n\nThe importance of residual herbage mass and pasture utilisation\n\n\n\n\nThe Paddock Walk component of the day will be a practical session on measuring herbage mass, and the day will wind up with a question and answer session.\n\n\n\n\nPERSONAL GRAZING CONSULTS\n\n\n\nWorkshop only: $55 (incl GST)Workshop + personal on-farm consult with Dr Judi Earl: $110 (incl GST)\n\n\n\nTo book a personalised consult, you must also attend the workshop.Consults are 2.5 hours and will be held either morning or afternoon from 19-23 May.Make your ticket selection at the checkout then contact karen.tearney@lowerblackwood.com.au to book your consult time.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBOOK YOUR TICKET HERE ( https://www.trybooking.com/DKNPB )\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWILL THIS WORKSHOP BENEFIT ME?\n\n\n\nThe workshop is for anyone looking to understand how to use livestock to improve the health and resilience of their farm soils.
