Presented by Dr. Jeisane Accioly-McIllree, Principal Consultant for Accioly Livestock Industries Services (ALIS) and Executive Officer for the Western Beef Association Inc., our next Talkin After Hours takes a look at how we can better ensure that our grazing animals are getting the nutrition they need.

The presentation will touch on:

  • Understanding pasture annual supply curves (quantity and quality),

  • How supply curves match with animal nutritional requirements,

  • Monitoring animal condition score and,

  • Nutritional strategies to support animal welfare and production.

OUR PRESENTER

Jeisane was born in Brazil where she graduated as a veterinarian in 1990. Since very early in her career she has focused on livestock production and efficiency. She has experience in research and extension projects in Brazil, Canada and Australia in goats, pigs, sheep and cattle production.

Jeisane has been working in WA for 25 years and for 12 years was DPIRD‚Äôs (Dept of Agriculture) Beef Research Officer. She has collaborated in numerous national and regional projects including: livestock nutrition, reproduction, meat quality, genetics and biosecurity. 

Jeisane is passionate about skills building and particularly making scientific information accessible for industry stakeholders to enhance their capability to understand outputs, adapt to their system and implement it. Jeisane is based in Bunbury.

NETWORKING & HOT LAMB ROLLS

At the end of the presentation we'll relax & serve slow cooked lamb rolls to keep the hunger pains away!. It will be a great chance to keep talking about this key topic, network with our presenter and local landholders who have experiences to share.
