DIY Soil Sampling Training Day
Join fellow farmers & DPIRD Officers to learn how to collect accurate soil samples on your farm.
Training will be provided by DPIRD officers.
You will learn how to:
- Take accurate and representative soil samples of your farm.
- Set-up the sampling drill and auger.
- GPS your sample locations.
- Use sample bags correctly.
This training is highly recommended for participants of the Healthy Estuaries WA soil sampling program and the Soils – New Horizons Program, but everyone is welcome.
Preparing for the training:
- Watch the short training video before attending the field day.
- Dress appropriately (hat, boots, long pants etc.).
- Bring a water bottle, sunscreen is provided.
- If possible, bring a charged smart phone or tablet with a SIM card slot (doesn’t need a sim).
- Install FileMaker Go app if using iPhone or iPad.
- If possible, bring a charged battery drill.
Event Logistics
When? Thursday November 13th, 9.00am to 12.00pm
Where? Margaret River Senior High School Farm Sheds (just off Boodjidup Road, Margaret River)
What else? BYO refillable drink bottle plus please wear appropriate & clean farm footwear and dress for the weather.
