The Dirt on Soil Health .. Secret to Strong Pastures and Healthy Stock
A live webinar event
Healthy soil is the backbone of any successful grazing enterprise — it supports pasture growth, livestock performance, and farm resilience. But what does “soil health” actually mean, and how can we start improving it?
Join us for this one-hour webinar as we unpack the fundamentals of soil health in grazing systems. Presented by well reknowned cover crop farmer & educator Kevin Elmy, we’ll explore:
- the telltale signs of healthy versus unhealthy soils.
- the natural processes that build fertile, functional soil.
- how plants and microbes can work together to boost soil structure, fertility, and productivity.
Whether you’re just starting to explore soil health or looking to fine-tune what you’re already doing, this session will help you make sense of what’s happening under your feet — and how small changes can make a big difference.
Stick around for the Q&A at the end to ask questions and share your own experiences with fellow graziers from across the region.

Kevin ElmyCover Cropping CanadaKevin is a third-generation farmer who started researching better ways to farm in 1999. In 2000, he and his family started using soil health principles on their farm, and in 2009, they started using cover crops. By building healthy soil, they have been able to reduce synthetic inputs to the land dramatically while maintaining yields. Based on his personal experience and much research, Kevin has written 2 books, Cover Cropping in Western Canada , and Not Just Dirt:
Revitalizing Soils With Regenerative Agriculture Principles. Kevin also works as a Regenerative Agriculture Coach in Canada and around the world including spending time in the South West of WA and familiarising himself with our context.
