Agroforestry – Growing Trees for Conservation & Profit – Webinar Recording

Simply put, agroforestry means combining agriculture and trees. Agroforestry is a land management approach with multiple benefits. Planting trees on farms can give farmers healthier soil and higher yields – throw grazing livestock into the mix and you have something called Silvopasture.

Regardless of what you call it or what form it takes, agroforestry works because it’s farming in 3D – the roots reach deep into the ground to cycle nutrients and store carbon, while above ground, the trees protect crops and animals against the elements & provide vital habitats for wildlife and natural predators.

In this Talkin’ After Hours webinar recorded in 2021, presenter & eminent Master Treegrower Rowan Reid of Bambra Agroforestry Farm, explores the art & science of growing trees for conservation & profit. Topics covered include:

  • Agroforestry – an introduction
  • Trees & shrubs for a purpose – capturing multiple benefits from agroforestry
  • Tree products and markets
  • Integrating agroforestry into your farm
  • The economics of agroforestry on your farm
